I'm sure you're wondering; Why the title with a 2? Well, If you're new to my blog, go back a few articles and you'll see I already did a guest bedroom reveal last year. Being a creative person, I'm constantly changing things around the house. I have come to accept this about myself, still working on the hubby though :). Truth be told, I never really loved the room after Bedroom Reveal #1. So, when I came across this antique French bed on Offerup, I knew this magnificent piece was meant to be in my guest bedroom. This is what the room looked like after bringing the bed in. After posting this photo on instagram and hinting at the possibility of painting it, Wow! I got A LOT of comments from followers to not paint the bed. It deflated me a little bit and I decided to step back and wait before I did anything. Turned out, waiting was the best decision I made. I wanted a soft, cozy and French romantic feel in the guest room. My inspiration came from watching Les Miserables. It was Cozette's bedroom that sealed the deal. Its funny where you get your inspiration from sometimes. Finally struck by inspiration I could see it all done in my head. This is where I lose the hubby! As I was trying to describe my design to him, it just went right over his head! hahahaha. My plans were big and involved doing things for the first time. I love a great challenge and I was excited to get this project going! Now that I had a vision in my head, it was time to source all the products I would be using in this design. I carefully scoured online for the perfect additions. Etsy is always a favourite of mine. It was there that I found the linen bedding and vintage guilded shelf that I would use as my bed crown. I had also recently found Peony and Sage on Instagram and absolutely fell in love with their fabrics. Since I was upholstering the bed, I knew their linen fabrics would be perfect. Looking through their swatches I instantly fell in love with Georgian Trellis. I decided to paint the bed frame but I wanted more of a solid, aged look rather than my go to chippy finish. I have worked with Annie Sloan chalk paint before and it was perfect for this bed. I chose Old White. As you all know I absolutely love Miss Mustard Seed milk paint. Her waxes are so easy to work with so I used her clear and antiquing wax for the bed finish. I bought my linen for the bed crown from Joann's Fabrics. I always get a good deal there with all their sales and coupons! Then came the scary but fun part! Pulling up my sleeves and making my vision come to life! And I am so excited to share the finished room with all of you! I hope you enjoy this little tour. Thanks for visiting! Feel free to leave a comment.
