Before I tackled this room I spent a lot of time on Pinterest pinning pictures of pretty rooms that I liked. There is so much inspiration on Pinterest and whenever I feel stuck or I'm in a decorating slump its my go to, to recharge my decorating battery ;) Once I had a vision in mind I cleared the room and couldn't wait to get started! First thing I did was take up the laminate floors to expose the original 100 year old wood floors. They got a fresh coat of white paint as well as the doors and woodwork. Since I wanted to paint the walls white as well I decided to go with a warmer shade to avoid it looking too cold and stark. I believe in mixing different shades of white throughout a room to make it feel warm and welcome. I chose Antique White by Clark and Kensington. Once the room and floors were all painted I still didn't have any furniture for the room. Just a queen bed frame. I belong to a local antique and vintage buy and sell Facebook page and as I was scrolling one day I came across this French provincial bedside table and matching headboard up for sale for $80! I couldn't type SOLD! fast enough. A quick little paint job and it is now the perfect addition to this room and adds that French touch that I love so much! This sweet bedding is from the Shabby Chic line at Target. I am in love with the linen blend and sweet crocheted details. I found the crystal chandelier on Amazon and that sweet vintage sconce on Etsy. I already had this floor length mirror that I just propped up against the wall facing the bed. This piece had been in my studio holding my paints since I didn't have a space for it in the house. Well, when I needed a piece to grace this wall I immediately knew this piece would be perfect! I love the unique shape, the pretty details and of course the magic of milk paint to give you that chippy paint look! I filled the shelves with an array of vintage finds I have collected over the years and a sweet photo of my Grandmother as a girl.
Thanks for stopping by and feel to leave a comment as I love to hear from you guys! xo Rene'
