I thought I'd quickly share my updated living room with you guys! I've been loving the blues but I've been craving a change. I absolutely love to collect French antique hemp sheets. The patina, feel and texture of them is just so addicting and I love the character they add to a room. Another plus is that they are very durable and hold up to regular washing very well. That's why I use one to throw over my couch and I have 2 chairs upholstered with them as well. I especially love ones with the monograms! Just look at that beauty and the old rust stains! (insert heart eyes.) We have the Ikea ektorp couch and the back cushions were starting to get lumpy and losing their shape. Not only that, they were hard and always felt they took over most of the couch leaving you this tiny space to sit on. Till we can afford a new down filled couch I decided to remove the back cushions completely and replace them with throw pillows. I raided my pile of antique sheets to make pillow covers. I made a total of 7 pillows varying in size from 20"x20" to 18"x18." What a difference! Why didn't I think of doing this sooner? Much more comfortable and now there's room for both me and the hubby and George, our 4 legged baby :) My go to for purchasing antique French sheets is Etsy. There are tons to choose from! Only downside is they ship from France so its usually a 2 week wait but it's a small price to pay for these beauties! I'm absolutely loving the new look and I'm always amazed at what a huge difference something simple as changing out pillows can make. And as you can see someone else approves of the new look as well!
Thanks so much for stopping by! xo Rene'
