Romantic Fall Home Tour

Give me all the pretty flowers, crystal chandeliers and antique furniture and I'll be a happy girl! One thing I have wanted for a long time though was a mantel. They add such drama and coziness to a room, plus, who doesn't love having a mantel to decorate for every season? 

My dream of owning one finally came true back in March. Perfect timing since it fell on my birthday month. Hello best birthday gift ever!! It is a beautiful French reproduction. But when we put it up against the only wall it would fit on, it looked like it was missing something. I pondered about what to do with it for many months, going back and forth on what I could do. I finally looked around on Pinterest and looked up French Parisian fireplaces. All these gorgeous images flooded my page as I oooh'd and aaah'd. I knew then that I would love to mimic a French Parisian fireplace. It would obviously be faux but I wanted it to look as authentic as possible. I showed the hubby my inspiration photo and like the amazing husband he is he agreed to go along with this hair brained scheme of mine. 

After several weeks of hubby working on creating this faux fireplace for me it was finally complete! And I thought since it's so close to fall that I would debut it during my fall home tour all dressed up for the coming season!

Isn't it amazing?! I absolutely love how it turned out! For a little fall touch I added beeswax candles, white pumpkins and pretty blooms! But, what makes this whole space so special is that faux French Parisian fireplace that hubby worked so hard to create for me! He truly had to think outside of the box and I am still in awe that he was able to create this for me! 

I painted the mantel and mirror the same white and the inside panels I painted a warm gray. The gold that frames the doors we put in is an antique gold frame I had sitting in the garage. the doors were also something we repurposed from an old piece of furniture we had.  I added effex molding to the doors that add pretty detail.  Finally the mantel sits on a 1"x12" that is painted to match the floor. 

That pastel of George was done by a good friend. It's usually sitting on the mantel but found a temporary spot here. I just love mixing gold furniture pieces with chippy painted furniture. They work so well together! 

Now, let's check out the entryway! I kept it simple with some white pumpkins, Russian sage from the garden and some leather boots and a denim jacket. Here in the PNW we also never go anywhere without an umbrella or two!

In the kitchen I just added a French bucket with plenty of limelight hydrangeas and white and orange pumpkins. On the other side of the kitchen I added a French pitcher with blue dried hydrangeas, seeded eucalyptus and white pumpkins. I wanted to keep it very simple while giving a nod to the coming season.
